Nancy Bowen
Dr. Bowen is the Public Health Officer for the County of San Diego. She was the Maternal and Child Health Chief for the Health and Human Services Agency working to improve the health of infants and children in San Diego County and developing programs such as the Perinatal Care Network, the Infant Mortality Review Program, and the Child Health Disability Prevention - Treatment Reimbursement Program, and the Child and Family Health and Well-Being Report Card.
Dr. Bowen also served as Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Chief and as Tuberculosis Control Officer for the County. Dr. Bowen is a Board Certified specialist in Preventive Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of California in San Diego and her MPH from the University of California in Los Angeles. She graduated from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention/University of California Public Health Leadership Institute in1999. Since 1996, she has been an adjunct faculty member at the Graduate School of Public Health. Her other professional and community activities include the California Conference of Local Directors of Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health; the Community Health Improvement Partners Steering Committee; and the Health Professional Advisory Committee for the local chapter of the March of Dimes.
