Biography: Dr. Hector Lemus is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He received his doctorate in Biostatistics from UCLA. Prior to joining the faculty at the Graduate School of Public Health, he was a post-doctoral researcher with the Department of Biostatistics at UCLA and the UCLA Brain Injury Research Center. His research interests include statistical methods in public health, dynamic modeling and simulation, mixed effect models in longitudinal data analysis, Bayesian methods, MCMC and computational statistics. Recent projects include modeling data from the UCLA BIRC to decrease the number of false alarms in the ICU. He is also part of an AIDS grant from the NIH. Dr. Lemus has extensive teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
