| Description: | Short-term (6-8 weeks) summer programs for continuing college undergraduates to teach English or participate in in-service learning program. Long-term (1-2 years) programs are open to college graduates of all ages. Long-term participanats may teach English literature, Business English, and film. May also work in rural development, environmental protection, organic farming, marine conservation, and public health. VIA provides two mandatory training sessions to volunteers prior to departure. Volunteers learn international job skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and customs of their host country. |
