Summary of Departments Work
Reporting to the Director of Performance Information and Consumer Engagement, this Manager will work to advance the use of healthcare performance information by managing projects to test performance measurement and reporting methods as well as approaches to integrate healthcare information in healthcare consumer decision-support applications. The audiences for the work include health plan and medical group professionals who are responsible for performance improvement and reporting, health benefits managers in private and public sector organizations, and consumers of medical services all of whom use performance information in their decision-making.
Summary of Position
This Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of projects to measure and report healthcare performance. This Manager, directly and through managing subcontractors, executes an array of tasks to collect, analyze, and report performance information and other decision support attributes to assist target-users in their decisions or business practices. This Manager has extensive relationship development and communications responsibilities with health care organizations and PBGH member firms.

| Requirements: | Core Requirements
Requirements include a Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in a health-related field, and a minimum of three-five years of project management experience. A background in health care performance is strongly preferred. Additional requirements include:
- Excellent project management skills with a background in complex projects with multiple stakeholders; project management experience from conception to conclusion
- Proven ability to drive timelines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Successful problem resolution skills
- An extremely high level of business writing proficiency
- Analytic and quantitative skills allowing interaction with researchers and statisticians
- Proven success selecting and supervising multiple vendors whose services include data collection and management, analyses and reporting
- Knowledge of healthcare information including code sets and measurement sets
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry structure and processes including health insurers, medical groups, hospital systems and practices
- Skill in translating customer needs into business requirements
- Ability to develop, write, implement and maintain project documentation and technical specifications
- Experience establishing quality assurance processes and standards and ensuring requirements are met
- Presentation skills for sharing project information with collaborating organizations and other stakeholders
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in defining project scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, and schedules
- Practical understanding of physician and/or medical group-level performance measurement, and reporting and performance improvement business processes
- Practical understanding of health care information, particularly as it relates to professional medical servicesclaims/billing coding for services, clinical and financial data
- Experience in conducting project meetings and documenting proceedings
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access
