Job Title:Statistician

Description:This individual will provide expertise in the areas of statistics, measurement, project design, epidemiological methods, and healthcare performance. They will be responsible for the production, quality, deployment, and documentation of methodologies and content for Thomson Reuters’ clients. This person will be required to make independent and assisted judgment calls regarding the creation metadata and analyses. Strong skills in SAS, relational databases and concepts, and the Microsoft Suite e.g. Excel and Word). In addition, an ability to focus on details as well as having an overall perspective of the use and relationship of the methodologies and data is important.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Management on Content Requirements.
  • Interact with internal knowledge experts and reference data resources.
  • Create content specifications, which include methods for developing content.
  • Analyze and understand methodology results.
  • Participates in design, computation, analysis, implementation, and interpretation of integrated healthcare datasets/databases.
  • Responsible for maintaining data and content quality standards, thresholds and monitoring.
  • Serves as consultant regarding content and methods to internal and external users.
  • Designs or adapts statistical and mathematical methods for routine production and custom programs.
  • Works as a team member to design and develop new healthcare data products and programs.
  • Communicate with internal clients
  • Work with manager, project manager and product management to ensure timelines on deliverables
  • Implement or guide process improvements as appropriate
Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task, able to manage two or more disparate projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality or deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to discuss technical issues with technical and non-technical audiences and work in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to estimate and meet realistic timelines and communicate with the team accordingly
  • Ability to problem solve using analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and a team player
  • Experience in documentation of analytical concepts
  • Flexibility to adapt to projects of differing scope/change priorities
  • Self directed and motivated: requires minimal management assistance to accomplish day to day activities
  • Experience with relational databases and concepts
  • Familiarity with SQL helpful
  • Ability to program in SAS using macro language
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field
  • 5+ years experience
