Job Title:Education Coordinator
Company:Henry M. Jackson Foundation/ Department and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC)
Location:Naval Medical Center San Diego
Description:This is a full-time position. This position is responsible for coordinating all educational activities associated with the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center's mission. The mission is to increase knowledge and awareness of traumatic brain injury (TBI) by educating military medical providers and DoD/VA beneficiaries about the symptoms and sequelae associated with brain injury. A secondary goal is to facilitate the development of TBI specific prevention, diagnostic, and treatment guidelines based on current scientific evidence. Other responsibilities include planning meetings, acting as the primary point of contact for professionals involved in this process, and assisting with the development and implementation of educational activities and materials on a national level to increase the awareness of military medical providers and DoD/VA beneficiaries about the continuum of care available through the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center Program.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in human services related field
  • 4 to 6 years experience working with TBI in a clinical, research, or educational capacity
  • Knowledge of TBI specific topics
  • Experience working on a medical education projects and efforts with consumers or medical providers

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Program knowledge, particularly with regard to web-based development tool, such as Authorware or eLearning
