The Homeland Protection and Preparedness business unit of SAIC currently has an opening for a Research Assistant to support the research projects of the Warfighter Performance Department at Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA. This NHRC Department conducts research related to the measurement, maintenance, restoration, enhancement, and modeling of human performance in military operational environments. Duties would include drafting of research whitepapers, proposals, and protocols; database management and data analysis; developing poster presentations; and assisting with scientific manuscript writing and presentations at professional meetings.

| Requirements: | REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in a field related to research required. Preferably in physiology, exercise physiology, or statistics. The preferred candidate will have experience in conducting structured literature searches and retrieving research literature identified in those searches. The candidate must have knowledge of basic statistical procedures and SPSS or similar software package(s) implementing those procedures. The preferred candidate will be familiar with the range of electronic databases available to identify published and unpublished studies in exercise and work physiology.
DESIRED SKILLS: Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field related to research preferred. Good oral and written communication skills and computer skills. Knowledge of methods for synthesizing research findings, such as meta-analysis and related methods, preferred.
