Full-Time
This is a full time position that combines the office management of a subdivision of the Center for Behavioral and Community Health Studies (BACH) and administrative support assistance to two of the BACH research projects and two principal investigators. BACH is a research center that is directed by Dr. John P. Elder, Professor in the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University. BACH co-investigators include Dr. Greg Talavera, Dr. Linda Gallo, Dr. Joni Mayer, Dr. Simon Marshall, Dr. Guadalupe X. Ayala, and Dr. Elva Arredondo. The subdivision of BACH for which the Office Manager will have primary responsibility includes studies that are led by Drs. Elder, Ayala, and Arredondo. The Office Manager position is designed to facilitate communication across projects to ensure efficient and effective flow of information and resources. BACH also employs a full-time Information Technology coordinator, Fernando Sing, who provides the necessary technical support for all of BACH, including but not limited to the stated subdivision. The Administrative Support Assistant position is designed to provide support to Drs. Elder and Ayala and two research studies. Each study, Entre Familia and Peers for Progress, employs a Project Manager and an administrative support assistant who oversee the management and administrative needs of the study. |
| Requirements: | Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in an office and/or administrative support environment. Demonstrates strong computer skills in standard Microsoft Office computer packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access), and the Internet. Uses office support technology and systems such as word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and databases to produce results. Able to work cooperatively with others. Has proficient knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation. Understands standard office procedures and operates standard office equipment, such as printers, copies, etc. Can learn new office technology systems such as computer backup procedures. Has the ability to multitask. Professionally and effectively communicates in oral and written forms. Works independently to problem-solve and make administrative decisions. Completes detailed work accurately and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years administrative experience. Bilingual (Spanish/English) reading, writing and speaking.
