Description:	The primary responsibility of the Managed Care Specialist (MCS) is to provide superior customer service and assistance to plan members. The MCS is the main point of contact for managed care plan (MCP) patients and MCP representatives. Further, the MCS is a knowledgeable resource on Medi-Cal managed care for clinic staff. The MCS' duties include outreach to new members, schedule initial assessments, monitor patient visits, assist with meeting HEDIS measures, match patients to services, provide patient visit follow-up, ensure patient retention as well as provide reporting and tracking of MCP patients
Requirements:	Bilingual English/Spanish required. Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Social Work preferred; college credits/degree in social or health science-related fields accepted, high school diploma with 3 years of health field experience strongly considered. Preferred work experience within, or substantial familiarity in, the fields of health care or social services. Experience with program promotion highly desirable. Work experience providing direct customer service preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, innovative, motivated, a team player, and able to work with individuals as well as small groups/families. Very organized. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel helpful. Possesses reliable transportation; CA driver's license and auto insurance as required by law.
