Description:	The Health Solutions business unit of SAIC currently has an opening for a Research Epidemiologist to support the Navy-Marine Corps Combat Trauma Registry (CTR) Deployment Health Database, located at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. The Navy-MC CTR provides the Department of Defense with a comprehensive database from which to assess the quality of care administered in military operations and to relate this care to rehabilitative outcomes and ultimate quality of life. The primary responsibility for this position is to conduct studies and analyses of an applied nature. Studies will include queries of registry data, which is clinical in nature and patient-centric, to produce reports describing injuries and diseases occurring in a deployed military population. Applicants will be required to demonstrate a strong technical writing background and have experience in publishing manuscripts.
Requirements:	Required Education and Experience Possession of a Master's Degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university. Minimum 2 years research experience required. Strong computer and word processing skills required. Attention to detail a necessity. Able to interact positively and in a professional manner within a research-oriented environment. Strong, demonstrated technical writing background required. Knowledge of statistical methodologies and the use of statistical software packages such as SPSS or SAS. Due to contract restrictions, US Citizenship is required Desired Skills: Familiarity with injury epidemiology, trauma, clinical care, mental health and experience in working with military populations are desirable.
