| Description: | Westside Regional Center (WRC) seeks a part-time RESEARCH ASSOCIATE whose primary responsibility will be to evaluate the processes and outcomes of a training program for professionals and community members who interface with individuals who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities and mental illness.
Westside Regional Center is a private, nonprofit agency dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This grant-funded project also includes collaboration with North Los Angeles County Regional Center, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the USC and UCLA University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, and the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed.
Responsibilities
- Work as member of multidisciplinary project team and contribute to the development of study design, methodology, implementation, evaluation, and data analysis plans;
- Independently assume responsibility for managing selected data collection activities;
- Perform statistical analyses using statistical software, e.g. STATA, SPSS, as needed;
- Oversees data management and quality control;
- Independently prepare data reports for grantors, project teams and publications, as needed;

| Requirements: |
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in relevant field (e.g., public health, statistics, psychology or social sciences) and minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (past experience with program evaluation, mental health and/or developmental disabilities, evaluation of training programs, etc. preferred);
- Proficient data analysis skills, including experience with Excel, SPSS, SAS and/or equivalent, as well as demonstrated experience in data analysis;
- Strong knowledge of relevant scientific methodology (e.g. quantitative and qualitative research methods, program evaluation, study design and sampling);
- Ability to multi-task, self-starter with excellent organizational & time management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfort with a "hands-on" role. Works well in a team setting with a diverse group of people.

| Compensation: | Commensurate with experience. This is a part-time (20% FTE) contracted position. |
