The GSPH Student Council hosted its first Alumni Presentation and Networking Event featuring GSPH alum Dr. Michael Reece on March 11, 2015. This event was sponsored by private donors, the GSPH, and the SDSU Student Success Fee, which awarded the council over $2,000 to host this successful event. Over 100 students, SDSU/GSPH faculty, GSPH alumni, and members of the public health community attended this event.
Dr. Michael Reece, Ph.D., MPH is Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the School of Public Health at Indiana University and over the past two decades has played leadership roles in community-based, governmental, and academic settings in areas related to sexual health and public health workforce development.
Dr. Reece presented on the conceptual and methodological approaches to advancing sexual health in the United States, and was awarded the GSPH Distinguished Alumni. The presentation was followed by a networking reception where current students were able to connect with alumni, faculty, and other members of the public healthy community.
