It is with great pleasure that I announce School of Public Health (SPH) senior Ms. Gabriela “Gabi” Hernandez has been nominated for San Diego State University’s (SDSU) 2018 Homecoming Court! She is an extremely dedicated Public Health and College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) student and it is my pleasure to share a few of her many accomplishments that illustrate why she was selected for this honor.
Gabi is an excellent student who dedicates her free time to volunteering with a variety of organizations, including Rady’s Children’s Hospital. I have personally worked very closely with Gabi as she is a CHHS SDSU Student Ambassador; and spends her summers helping incoming Freshmen and Sophomore students at orientation.
In addition to all of this, Gabi is heavily involved in six public health-related student organizations, is an officer in four of them, and is the president of the Compact Scholars Student Association (the student organization which nominated her for the Homecoming Court). Out of all the students nominated, the Homecoming Selection Committee, on behalf of Student Life and Leadership, picks only 10 students to represent the “Court” and of these 10, two students (one male and one female) are then selected as the Royals.
It is an honor and a privilege to share with you this extremely well-deserved recognition of Gabi’s many accomplishments and dedication to the field of Public Health (only a few of which are listed here). Please join me in congratulating Gabi in her nomination for SDSU’s 2018 Homecoming Court!
Warm Regards,
