Dr. Lorenz is an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Physical Activity at San Francisco State University and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SDSU. He specializes in Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs, and collaborates with members of the Graduate School of Public Health to create positive and supportive environments for all youth to be physically active in schools. His research uses the Behavioral Ecological Model to describe personal and environmental influences of physical activity behaviors and how to best design interventions that support youth physical activity within Physical Education and throughout the school day.
