Area B Requirement

Research and Special Studies

The Research & Special Studies courses  (PH 499, 797, 798, 897, 898, 899) provide invaluable hands-on experience to students as they progress towards their degrees.

These courses require special approval from a faculty advisor before a schedule number may be assigned.

Applied Practice Experience

The SPH applied practicum  (PH 497, 650, 750, 850) requirement ensures to the greatest extent possible integration of classroom experiences within the public health environment and can be paid or unpaid. The practicum is meant to be a win-win situation for both the agency and the student.
