Christopher K. Lee is a healthcare strategy and innovation professional. He currently serves as a senior manager at UCLA Health, where he is responsible for market intelligence to inform marketing strategies. In addition, he teaches a healthcare marketing course at the University of San Diego (USD).
Chris graduated from UC Irvine with a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior in 2011. At that time, Chris thought he would go on to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. However, his first job after college was working for a medical business brokerage, where he found newfound interest in the administrative side of healthcare. This led him to exploring potential career and educational pathways. He decided to attend San Diego State University (SDSU) for a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Management and Policy. After graduating in 2014, Chris worked at a software-as-a-service startup that served community pharmacies. This experience further exposed Chris to the business side of healthcare as well as technology and innovation. A few years later, Chris joined Family Health Centers of San Diego, a federally qualified health center, to lead marketing and communications for their health IT subsidiary. Though he currently works for an academic medical center (UCLA Health), Chris still stays involved with the startup community.
Outside of healthcare, he runs a career coaching practice called PurposeRedeemed and posts weekly videos on career advice at: youtube.com/PurposeRedeemed. He has been quoted in publications including the Harvard Business Review, HuffPost, Yahoo! News, and U.S. News & World Report.
