Dr. McDaniels-Davidson is the Director of the Institute for Public Health (IPH) at San Diego State University and holds and adjunct faculty and lecturer positions at the Graduate School of Public Health, San Diego State University. As the Director of the IPH, Dr. McDaniels-Davidson oversees a staff of Research Scientists, Health Writers, and Public Health Professionals that engage in grants and contracts with community-based and governmental agencies in and around California. Current agreements are in place with organizations such as the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, the Hospital Association of San Diego & Imperial Counties, Family Health Centers of San Diego, and the National Conflict Resolution Center. She also serves as Principal Investigator for a longstanding contract with the California Department of Health Care Services, Every Woman Counts program (EWC). Her work with EWC focuses on the development of professional education and continuing medical education, resources and clinical tools for health care providers that perform breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services, and supporting the clinical services unit of EWC.
