Bio

Arishankery Peabody is a distinguished public health leader with over a decade of experience in clinical practice, healthcare administration, and academia. Her work is marked by a strong commitment to improving health outcomes through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a focus on global health and health systems transformation. She has developed and delivered lectures on epidemiology, occupational and environmental health, global health and international health systems.

As an Assistant Director at the Ministry of Health Malaysia, she served in a senior leadership role to manage a large-scale public health response during the COVID-19 pandemic. She spearheaded the establishment of Malaysia's first and largest field hospital and led the development of the national COVID-19 case-monitoring dashboard. Her professional expertise spans strategic planning, budget and resource management, disaster response, and quality assurance, demonstrated by her successful leadership in streamlining clinical processes to dramatically reduce patient waiting times and improve operational efficiency.

Dr. Peabody's commitment to health equity is a cornerstone of her work. Throughout her career, she has consistently championed initiatives to serve diverse and vulnerable populations, developing specialized health plans and services to address unique community needs. This dedication extends to her voluntary role as the Policy Council Chairperson for the Neighborhood House Association Head Start and Early Head Start Program in San Diego. In this capacity and through her continuous volunteering, she works to uplift the community, ensuring equitable access to resources and advocating for the well-being of families and children.

She holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management, underscoring her commitment to continuous process improvement and program management. She has been recognized for her quality assurance work, having won some nationwide competitions and awards.
