Ms. Sturgis holds an undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical science from Showa Pharmaceutical University in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to earning a Master of Public Health from Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University, she worked for Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. She played a major role on clinical trials and regulatory submission to obtain the first magnetocardiography (MCG) permission and also magnetoencephalogram (MEG) permission from Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Since 2001, Ms. Sturgis has been with San Diego State University, Institute for Public Health (IPH).
