About our Keynote Speaker

Stefan Baral, MD, MPH, FRCPC, CCFP
Co-Director, Program for Implementation and Equity Research
Professor, Department of Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Stefan Baral is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Stefan co-directs CFAR Implementation Science core, the JHU Implementation Science Hub, and the NIMH-funded Center for HIV and Mental Health Stigma Elimination Strategies (CHIMES), and the Implementation Science concentration of the DrPH at Johns Hopkins and has worked to increase coherence in the methods and metrics of HIV-related implementation research. Through his role as the co-director of the Program for Implementation and Equity Research, Stefan has led HIV, STI, and sexual health epidemiology and implementation research focused on understanding individual, network, and structural risks and the development, adaptation, and replication of effective strategies to improve STI and HIV prevention and treatment for historically marginalized communities.
