Bio

Jessica Haughton is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Promotion and Behavioral Science in the School of Public Health at SDSU and a Lecturer for the online MPH program at SDSU Global Campus. She has more than 10 years of experience developing research proposals and implementing community-based research projects. Throughout her career, she has worked with various local and international non-profit organizations to train and empower local leaders to improve the health and quality of life of their communities.

Ms. Haughton has led numerous grant proposals, from development through implementation and evaluation and managed large community-based clinical trials. She is interested in using qualitative research methods and implementation science to develop processes for translating research findings into practice. She is committed to mentoring and training students to become effective public health professionals who display humility, value difference, and work for justice.
