Bio

Dr. Kristen H. Walter is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Public Health at San Diego State University. She is also a Clinical Research Psychologist and Division Head of the Clinical Research Program at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California. Her research focuses on the treatment and prevention of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and conditions that commonly co-occur with PTSD, as well as sexual trauma and suicidality among active duty service members and veterans. Her work explores outcomes of evidence-based psychological treatments, as well as outdoor activity-based approaches. Dr. Walter is a Principal Investigator on numerous Department of Defense-funded trials, a privileged provider at Naval Medical Center San Diego, and a licensed psychologist in the states of California and Ohio.
