On Thursday, February 4th 2016, the Graduate School of Public Health hosted the first event of a three-part Speaker Series at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center. Entitled “Global Health at the Local Level,” the event featured two GSPH alumni Lan Wiborg and Dr. Louise Gresham. Lan Wiborg serves as the Deputy Director for the City of San Diego Public Utilities Department. Dr. Louise Gresham is the CEO & President of Foundation Merieux.
Sponsored by the 2015-2016 Student Success Fee, the event was open to students, alumni, and faculty/staff. Attendees learned about some accomplishments of our various alumni and their notable works in the field of public health.
The GSPH looks forward to the remaining Alumni Speaker Series events:
1) Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 featuring Barb Robinette and Dr. Joe Smyser and
2) Wednesday, March 9th featuring Dr. David Satcher- 16th Surgeon General to the United States of America.
