Dr. Brandy Lipton received a 2018-2019 Center for Health Economics & Policy Studies (CHEPS) Research Fellowship, which supports tenure-track faculty engaged in applied microeconomics and policy research. The fellowship will provide funding for Dr. Lipton’s research agenda examining the effects of adult Medicaid optional benefits on health and labor market outcomes, access to school-based health services and academic outcomes among children, and the connections between health policy and criminal activity.
As a CHEPS Fellow, Dr. Lipton will also engage with other scholars by participating in the CHEPS seminar series, mentor San Diego State University students who are considering graduate programs in Economics, Public Policy, and Public Health, and contribute to the CHEPS Working Paper Series and policy briefs.
