New Global Health Opportunities for Students

STUDY ABROAD: VIETNAM January 2-12, 2024 Contact Gary Rotto: grotto@sdsu.edu COURSE FALL 2023 Tuesdays 4:00-6:40 PM OFFERED AS P H 550 * Learn about the Public Health System from faculty at Hue University * Take a water tour and learn about marine environmental health at Ha Long Bay * Visit mountainous communities and learn about their health challenges and solutions * Visit Tra Que Vegetable Village and experience a cooking class with discussion of local nutrition and health promotion * Learn about cultural/political structures that shape the Vietnamese Public Health system * Free time to explore! PH 550 International Public Health in Mexico COURSE The course takes place during spring semester and explores the historical and contemporary topics involving health care and health promotion with emphasis on Mexico and the border region. A 9-day trip to Tijuana is required as part of the course. Other areas may include: Tecate, Rosarito, and Ensenada.
