Important Information for Incoming Master’s Degree Students

Hepner HallCongratulations on your admission to the SPH!  We are pleased that you will join us this fall.  You may wonder, what is next?  Here is a brief synopsis of what you can expect over the next few months:

After you respond by emailing Brenda Fass-Holmes

You will hear from Graduate Admissions (via your WebPortal account) concerning the decision on your application by Graduate Admissions.

After you have been formally admitted by Graduate Admissions

You will need to complete the “Intent to Enroll” by the specified deadline. Watch your WebPortal account for information about the date by which you need to pay your fees, and your assigned date/time to register for classes via WebPortal.

(Note: The date/time assigned to you is the first possible moment that you may register; if you cannot register at that exact time, please note that you may do so at any point after that time, up to the end of the regular registration period.)

Graduate Admissions will notify the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships of your admission. If you have applied for financial aid, you will hear from that office concerning your financial aid package.

International Students

Your I-20 will be issued by the International Student Center after you have been formally admitted by Graduate Admissions. Please contact the International Student Center with any questions or concerns regarding your I-20.

Toward the end of May / beginning of June

Advising letters will be sent to all new students via email. Please follow these letters in registering for your first semester of classes.

SPH Orientation – Thursday, August 18, 2022

In early August, information will be sent to you via email about the SPH Orientation, scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, August 18. Please reserve your afternoon for this important event. You will be assigned to a faculty advisor at Orientation.

GA/TA Positions

At this time, we do not have any GA/TA positions available. Any GA/TA position announcements will be sent out on the SPH Mailing List. Please see our web site for instructions to subscribe to the Graduate Mailing List. All students are encouraged to join the mailing list to receive important announcements from the SPH.

Classes begin on Monday, August 22, 2022

Have you moved?

If you move and/or change your email address, please be sure to change your address/email address via WebPortal AND notify Brenda Fass-Holmes (bholmes@sdsu.edu) of your new address/email address.
