Spring Student Spotlight: Mahbubur Rahman
Meet Mahbubur Rahman, a passionate DrPH scholar whose dedication to public health stems from personal experiences with health disparities in his community. Through volunteering in underserved areas, Mahbubur has been motivated to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Mahbubur is currently involved in two exciting upcoming projects focused on Latinx Mental Health and Youth Health, which reflect his dedication to improving health outcomes in diverse communities. His future research aims to develop organizational leadership policies that can tackle health inequities and strengthen community health.
A typical day for Mahbubur involves a mix of admin work, audits, event management, meetings with colleagues, and community engagement activities. He also dedicates time to reviewing academic papers. His unique blend of skills helps him to drive a meaningful change in Public Health, approaching challenges with resilience and a problem-solving mindset, often seeking collaborative solutions and learning from setbacks. He stated, “Being a DrPH scholar has profoundly impacted my life by providing me with the knowledge, skills, and network to drive meaningful change in public health.”
Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and reading which helps him stay balanced and inspired. Being a DrPH scholar allows Mahbubur to dedicate his passion of public health to important projects, and make a positive impact in his community.
