Scholarly Areas
Dr. Stoskopf’s areas of research include access to and utilization of health services, patient outcomes, health insurance reform, and health disparities among vulnerable populations such as those living with HIV/AIDS, the elderly, the mentally ill, and African Americans.
Biography
Dr. Stoskopf started her academic career at the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina, where she spent 19 years. She became Chair of the Department of Health Services Policy and Management in 1999 and served as Director of Doctoral Programs from 1991. Dr. Stoskopf started to doctoral programs overseas, a Ph.D. in the Republic of China and a Dr.P.H. in the Republic of South Korea.
Prior to starting her academic career, Dr. Stoskopf spent five years in the U.S. Navy as an Environmental Health Office with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing in El Toro, CA, and as the Chief of Preventive Medicine Service at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Okinawa, Japan.
Dr. Stoskopf is a Registered Sanitarian with the State of California.
