Nick’s current and previous work experience in both California and the Northeast region has focused his applied research interests around finding creative and sustainable strategies to improve the health and well-being of diverse communities from inner cities to rural regions. Due to his vast organizational experience in having worked for universities, academic medical centers, large metropolitan health department, for-profit and nonprofit healthcare corporations, and political advocacy groups, Nick often serves in a role of a collaborator in getting new programs implemented through performance-based partnerships
Biography
Nick Macchione, FACHE, is the Director of the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency and the current Hanlon Executive Scholar. This is a part-time Program faculty member whose primary responsibility is to serve as a liaison between the Program and the health care practice community. He has worked in the local community many years, and through his job responsibilities has made contacts and interacts with most key executives at health organizations. He leads the HMP Professional Development series.
