Biography
John L. Ferrand holds a BA in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and a MPH from San Diego State University’s School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science. John is currently a doctoral candidate in the Indiana University School of Public Health and he is finishing his dissertation research on the barriers and facilitators to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) provision and use in a Midwest college health center. Before starting his graduate program, John was a research assistant at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center where he assisted in a number of studies exploring the implementation and sustainment of evidence-based practices in large mental health service systems. John has been an instructor or co-instructor in several courses including Writing in Public Health, Research Methods, and Program Planning. John’s research interests and skills include sexual and reproductive health promotion, behavioral change interventions, program evaluations, psychometrics, and community-based research.
