Biography
Dr. Castañeda is a Core Investigator at the South Bay Latino Research Center and Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Public Health and Department of Psychology at San Diego State University and member of the Population Science Research Program at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. She has over 15 years of research experience working in partnership with community-based organizations in difference regions of the United States. She has served as principal or co-investigator for 20 grant-funded studies and she has over 70 peer reviewed publications. She has substantial experience in community-based participatory research (CBPR), mixed-methods, and behavioral science related to cancer and chronic disease disparities.
