Enhanced Linkage to HIV Care following Home-based HIV Testing in Rural Uganda: The Ekkubo/PATH study

SPH Faculty

  • Susan Kiene, Principal Investigator

Research Project Title

  • Enhanced Linkage to HIV Care following Home-based HIV Testing in Rural Uganda: The Ekkubo/PATH study

Project Description

  • In this cluster randomized trial we will randomize communities in rural Uganda to receive home-based HIV counseling and testing with either the proposed enhanced linkage to care intervention or standard of care follow up after testing HIV positive. We will compare the effectiveness of the two follow up approaches at linking those who test HIV positive to care, antiretroviral therapy (ART), and achieving HIV viral load suppression.
