The proclamation comes as the school celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing(AACN) awarded Dr. Greiner the 2020 AACN Advocate of the Year Award. This award is granted annually to one distinguished member whose advocacy over the past year has promoted academic nursing’s priorities in the federal sphere. Dr. Greiner is being recognized for his leadership in strengthening the federal investment in nursing education, research, and practice.

From contact tracing to testing and vaccine rollout, researchers pivoted quickly, launching critical programs to help San Diego’s hardest hit groups.

Dr. Ignatius Nip received the CSHA Award for Outstanding Leadership for District 9. This award is only given once per year to provide recognition to a CSHA member. Dr. Nip is being recognized not only for his demonstrated leadership, but for his meaningful contributions to the community, CSHA members, and the profession as well.
